‘Believe in yourself, move forward and you will find your way,’ said by a journalist.

Wong Kit Lin, an executive deputy controller of TVBS MEDIA INC., who gave a talk at Hong Kong Shue Yan University weekly forum. She shared her experience in reporting TV news and her point of view of future media development.

Wong said, nowadays TV news keep repeating, with just a little of truth. ‘Also, the point of view of news is injustice and narrow,’ she said.

People no longer watch TV news becomes a concern. She said,’the average time spending on watching TV news in asia is 2 hours and 25 minutes, which is the least compared to other districts.’

Wong said, as people give less attention to TV news, it needs a breakthrough. With new technology, animation is used in reporting news to give additional details to audiences, so as to provide different angles for them to realise and attract them to keep watching.

To have wider range of view on media use in public communication, Wong went to Korea to learn their ways in media production for two weeks. At that time, she attended a talk by a korean director which inspired and impressed her a lot.

‘Korean producers care about who would be their target audience, and what would the audience think, so their drama successfully earn good response from audiences,’ Wong said. Korea now export most drama to overseas.

Wong recalled the director said, ‘there is no talented director, because no people will suddenly succeed.’ Wong believes, passion is a main condition to lead people achieve their dreams. ‘People should try to do what they want if they have ideas.’

‘You will only sitting down if you don't move forward,’ she said, ‘find a new market is important as a journalist.’ --165009 2018年10月30日 (二) 17:26 (CST)
