TV industry is changing

Watching TV is the major entertainment of Hong Kong people in daily life. There are also a lot of changes in the TV industry, including the broadcast mode and the advertising method. The government is planned to stop the Analogue TV service in 2020.

Head of Sales & Business Development Of Asia Television Digital Media Limited Eric Tam Man-chi said “There is no way to solve the problem that some audience may affected after stop servicing Analogue TV.” Since Digital TV is the major trend in the society, it is hard to keep using resources in the old Analogue TV service as it only covers small group of people.

Another new development of the TV industry is the Placement Marketing in TV programs. Audience sometimes may feel wired when they are enjoying the TV programs. Tam said “If the placement marketing is good and look comfortable in the TV programs, audience will support it. Also, more advertiser will choose this as the promotional method.” It is because most of the TV programs are free of charge, it is normal to see there is an advertisement in the TV programs. However, the key point is to place the advertisement properly in the TV programs and avoid resistance.
