The Taiwanese local elections of 2018 election entered a full swing. What is the willing of young voters? Wong Kit Ling, Executive Deputy Controller of TVBS MEDIA INC. in Taiwan, attended Hong Kong Shue Yan University general assembly this afternoon and said that the poll conducted before the election had an opportunity to influence the voters’ willingness to vote. Therefore, it is a reasonable policy to prohibited Taiwanese from posting and commenting on the candidates within the 10 days before the election, or any topic about the polling intention, as it can effectively ensure the fairness of the election.

Wong said that some voters may refer to the results of the polls to decide which candidate to vote for, and even influence the thoughts of voters. She believes that the current polls in Taiwan are within reasonable tolerance scope. Some people questioned that the polls may focus on investigating the old age generations, but Wong believed that when conducting polls, it will ensure the respondents was covered with all ages.

Wong also mentioned she does not agree that youngsters in Taiwan have the problem of political apathy. After the Sunflower Movement, even if the teenagers have their own political standpoint, they will not publicly express their position and want to avoid quarreling with their peers because of their different opinions. Moreover, Wong pointed out that 40% of the young people voted for the "not selected" option in the voting invention survey, so the election results is still unknown at the moment, as the results of the polls were around half and half.--165151 2018年10月30日 (二) 17:21 (CST)
