(March 20, 2012)According to the Hong Kong law and rules, police force use riot police only when there is an urgent situation or is preceding a large-scale uprising. HKPF has been criticized for a long period on it had deployed riot police and tear gas to attack the protestors. ((solid lead))

“There is no problem for Hong Kong government to use riot police and tear gas against demonstrators in 2003,” said the ex-Secretary for security of the Hong Kong Government, Peter Lai.

Thousands of protestors could take to the streets in 2003 to demonstrate against the government intention of launching Article 23, angry they had no say in the legislation and at Beijing's stifling of full democracy of Hong Kong should have. ((nice))

Lai said that the government has arrayed riot police for many times in the past such as an insurrection raised by the taxi drivers in 1984. “Sometimes, riot police and tear gas are not effective to handle such a big demonstration like the World Trade Organization meeting in Hong Kong in 2005,” said Lai.

However, (criticizes) have also tarnished the global financial hub's reputation for fairness, good governance and stability.

The public is concerned about (rather the police who use unjustifiable force to deprive them of the right as well as the freedom of demonstration).

Lai said that it is "acceptable to use riot police to suppressed outbreaks of uprising".If not to do so, the society will become impulsive.

((pretty solid throughout...good angle and focus, just a few hiccups in your presentation and execution))
