Tang showed a bad crisis management

A good crisis management meant people had to minimize the loss in a crisis, said a senior journalist in a university talk heard yesterday.

“There is a relationship between crisis and loss. If there is big crisis, the loss will be great. If the crisis is small in scale, the loss will be small too. The great method to settle the crisis is that people should minimize the loss as much as possible,” [What does loss mean in this context? Loss of money? Loss of life? Loss of time?] said Lai Man-cheuk, a senior journalist.

Lai commented the credibility crisis of Henry Tang Ying-yen. “He totally failed to manage the crisis. The scandal of illegal structures called his integrity into question amid speculation. Although his management skill of being a politician was not mature, it was acceptable [In the precious sentence, you say that he totally failed ot manage the crisis. In this one you say his management is acceptable. This is logically inconsitent and makes no sense]. Compared with the more than hundred year’s history of the political environment of the foreign countries, Hong Kong has just begun recent 20 years. So, I believe Hong Kong may have an improvement in establishing a fair and open political election in the future.”

Furthermore, City Telecom's new free-to-air television services is widely believed that would set a challenge to established players, including TVB and ATV, which threaten the share of regional television market. City Telecom even recruited many artists and production staff from TVB. [I understand that the speaker discussed this, but it has nothing to do with the focus of your article, which is Henry Tang and crisis management.]

Lai said that City Telecom could not beat TVB. “TVB is a large company. There are more than 1000 employees. Only 5% talented staff in TVB flowed to another television station. I think that brain drain is a normal flow in the labour market [Failure is also normal. Saying somehting is not a problem because it is normal is kind of meaningless].” In his opinion, Ricky Wong Wai-kay, the chairman of City Telecom, was successful in promoting the new TV channel, which set an image to the public that City Telecom gave a threat to the established players.
