In the meantime, “all the funds are given to our beneficiaries to help the needy,” said Louie Tong Hang Shan, the Community Relations Manager of the Community Chest at Shue Yan University yesterday.


Since “Guo Meimei Scandal” has been widespread throughout the world, many people are afraid to donate money to charity organization because they worried about being (chested?). The scandal raises public concern about the usage of donation of charity organizations and affects the motivation of donation.(repeating self-delete)


The Community Chest of Hong Kong, a large-scale charity in Hong Kong, promise all the funds are given to the needy without any deduction for administrative expenses.


“The organization obtained over $700 million reservation. It is enough to support our beneficiaries two years without any donations,” said Tong.


“There are only 10% of the funds (are-2x) invested. Meanwhile, there are 90% of the funds (are) saved in the banks,” said Tong. Some people doubted the usage of donation of The Community Chest that part of the funds is used as an investment and it may have a probability to lose.


There are nine experienced bankers as an Investment Subcommittee of the Community Chest to monitor the investment. “I believe they can make proper decisions to ensure the investments are low risk and steady,” she said.


In addition, she emphasized they did long term investment (only which) are low risk and high profits.
