The Hong Kong Iron lady, Anson Chan

Anson Chan, the Hong Kong Iron lady who always has a sunshine smiling face attended a seminar held by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Hong Kong Shue Yan University.

She started the talk by telling students about her impression of journalism. She takes journalism as a very noble profession. She also emphasized that journalists are eyes and ears of the community so it is very important for them to be true to such a noble profession. Furthermore, she also suggested several best practices for students to be a good journalist; Keep their eyes and ears wide open and read widely so that they can know the society well. Listen to the voice of different people in community and the comments from people around the world are also a good practice to them so that they can report in a fair objective manner.

When she was asked about how she can balance the family life and politic life. She answered that the first thing to do is to prior different things in life such as family ,career. She also believes that things are not always ideal and people must learn to try and strike for what they want.
