The Huge Market in Mainland Attracts artists

10th, April, 2012 By Tang Yee Ting Cherry

HONG KONG --- (The?) China, a seven billion(s) people’s market, attracts (the-omit since plural unspecified noun follows) artists and investments in different Asia countries to enter in. Wilson Qin, the media producer, and the artist Hei Wong shared their views about it.

In these few years, many artists go to mainland (for further developing their career-change to develop to infinitive). We can easily find the familiar faces in mainland’s TV programs or shows. In fact, it looks like a trend. But why does it turn out (incomplete-have to say that way)?

“It’s all about calculation,” Wong said in the talk at Shue Yan University yesterday.

Wong, a famous former TVB actor, says that working in China is attractive to the artists as the pay is better than Hong Kong. Besides, it also helps them to build up their popularity by expos(e-progressive) in a seven billions market and that (is-delete) the local market can’t compare with.

“Therefore, artists are willing to use more time to do the preparation before the filming. Thus, a better quality of a show can be made,” said by Wong.

Wilson Qin, the media producer which has directed a lot of well- known variety shows in Hong Kong, agrees with Wong. “The attitude of artists is different when they work in China and Hong Kong. They may spend a day or even a month to do the rehearsal in China, but it is only (article) few hours in Hong Kong,” Qin said.
