(Just when we write about cardinal Zen 陳日君, we will always describe him as an outspoken critic of both the Beijing and Hong Kong governments and since Reverend Koon is a rather controversial figure and his comments on politics are often viewed as pro-government and pro-establishment and even pro-Beijing. For instant, he has made clear that he is against the democratic Occupy Movement. As a reporter, it is your job to let your readers know what his political propensity is.)

‘I am disgusted with the new policy about Shenzhen residents’ multi-entry visas, this will make the relationship between the Mainland and Hong Kong residents become tense’, said Revd Peter Douglas Koon, Provincial Secretary Genera of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui.

He expressed that there are many other ways to combat parallel traders, ‘For example we can enhance the intensity of the customs checks’, he said, ‘as we know that if the goods have been opened it is hard to sell.’ He believed that this policy appears at inappropriate times, and will make the relationship between the Mainland and Hong Kong residents become tense.

The visa change targets Shenzhen residents who currently enter Hong Kong on multi-entry visas. These residents will now be limited to just one visit a week.
