It is no doubt that being a journalists, the biggest duty is to report the truth. Sometimes reporters may commit a crime if they expose the facts. Under this circumstance, reporters face a great challenge of decision. Tsui Siu Wah, a past senior reporter, emphasized it is excusable that reporter commit a crime if the starting point of revealing the fact is to protect the interests of public.

Tsui even claimed that in USA, reporter could show that their purpose of commit a crime is to maintained the benefits of public and the rights to know the facts, they could be released.

Being a journalist, Tsui thought that the mission of reporter is to find out he reality. ‘Reporters carry a social responsibility to cover the truth correctly and insist not to directed by anything, including money and pressure from the society.’ He continued, and the most important is reporter should find out the story behind. He suggested media should play a neutral role in all news without adding own opinion. ‘Article with standpoints even lost its value in readers’ point of view.’

He got experiences in various media organizations. But he chose to leave the media industry and jumped into the business circles. The nature of media changed nowadays. Some bosses requested reporters do fake works, just like some gossips articles. Tsui refused to betray his own principle, so he changed his career and now become the CEO of the Chinetek Intelligence Company Limited.

Under the present environment of media, Tsui felt disappointed and pointed out ten sins of journalists, such as sensational news, invaded upon one’s privacy. He said: ‘The key point of changing the ways of reporting is the readers. It is because there was a mutual effect between the market and the media. Readers can use their purchasing power to change the media.’

The present situation of media disappointed Tsui’s eager devotion, but he still looks forward to establishing one kind of media one day.
