Wang Ru Deng, office manager assistant of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government, explained the work and role of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government to Shue Yan students yesterday.

Wang claimed that the role of his office is to build a bridge between Hong Kong and Mainland China. After regression to China, Hong Kong carries out the “one country two system” policy. So the Liaison Office’s responsibility is to promote the communication of Hong Kong’s economic, culture etc. as well as linking up with different aspects.

When being asked about public request of general election, Wang said that everything is run steps by steps under the Basic Law. He thinks confident with this general election apply in Hong Kong. He cannot con firm the schedule, but do think general election is followed by a common view of public.
