To be or not to be ? Senior online news editor talks about digitalization of newspaper

Whether all media will eventually found itself forced to be digitalized or not is something which all in the industry might concern with. To this, Chris C Anderson, a senior editor of the Huffington Post gives definite answers during his guest appearance at Shue Yan University General Assembly: The Digitalization of news is an inevitable trend which all media should follow and be accustomed to it.

According to Anderson, people nowadays own lots of high-tech gadgets and are highly adapted to the internet, and online social websites such as Twitter, Facebook etc proves how closely connected between people and the Technology. With knowledge of this trend, Anderson points out that it is just a matter of time for traditional printed media to equip themselves with an online version of their news to cater the modern needs. He then said, it’s not a necessary for all printed media for relinquish their old tricks ,but accept the trend and start online news will be vital to them.

Besides talking about the fight between the old and new way of news, Anderson also talks about the unique factor of The Huffington Post .Through there were numerous online news website on the internet and there were no lack of competitors with their own advantages ,The Huffington post still find its way to attract customers. Anderson think what makes them to get the best of their competitors will be their speed. With their own lab and office connected, any breaking news or ideas will be discussed by technician and editors and be posted on the website at an incredible speed, and different columns and comments also make it count, and not to mention how well connected to social websites they are. So ,the rise of the Huffington post wil be something expectable and not simply an coincidence.
