Towngas Concern Public's Needs

Building up a good image for the company is very important. Ms Wong Sau Ying, Head of Corporate Communications of the Hong Kong and China Gas Company Ltd. (Towngas) mentioned that Towngas concerns not only the profit, but also the environment, said in the Shue Yan University.
Making profit is what a corporate concerned; Wong thinks that social conscience is also important. She said there is an energy-saving tips’ leaflet attached in every bimestrial bill to educate the public in environmental proection, “We have responsibility to tell people about the importance of energy-saving. I hope they can minimize the energy consumption, to save the earth.” she said.
Wong also mentioned that maintaining a close relationship with the community is necessary for Towngas. Thus, she needed her corporate officers to pay attention in current social issues. “To achieve this, we had already set up nine “District Council Liaison Group”, to train the officers to be able and effective in understanding more about the news and communicating with the public.”
