Towngas respect Social Responsibilities

A senior corporation communication worker thought that company should not only concern the profit but also enforce social responsibilities, especially the environment protection.

Ms. Wong Sau Ying, Head of Corporate Communications, The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Ltd. (Towngas), pointed Towngas concerned environment protection very much. It would give some tips in the bill to teach the customer saving gas. She said “it is our aim. We should teach the citizen the importance of saving gas and environment protection.” Towngas had not stopped developing energy-saving stove. “We also used Naphtha to produce gas.” Wong said. It could reduce the waste from the coal.

Besides, to help their employee known more social affair, Towngas had established “Legislative assembly liaison team”. Wong pointed that Towngas would arrange their employee to participate local communication meeting and encourage them to be volunteers to help the elderly and poverty. “By these activities, we can bring the brand into society, better the image of Towngas.” said Wong. For instance, the team had helped the elderly for hair cutting service.

Being a corporate communication, Wong thought concerning social affair was needed, helping her crisis management. She explained “two years ago, a gas and oil company had been exposed their oil checker had some mistake. We guess the media would mainly concern on it. To handle their question, we prepare all the information after the incident appears.” She emphasized before the crisis appears, the corporate communication department should strengthen their ability and reaction skill. “We should have very strong Crisis consciousness” said Wong.
