(I have asked the class to include bylines in all their reports before they handed in their home works and it just caught my attention that you have failed to follow such simple requirement. I will not mark your work if it happens again. The key word in your article should be "editorial independence". You should provide your readers with some background information regarding the program LegCo Review which was going to be replaced by the new one-on-one interview show because the decision for RTHK to pull the former program off the air has stirred up suspicion that the government has planned to clamp down on the editorial independence of RTHK. )

We have the say

Executive Producer of Public and Current Affairs Section in Radio Television Hong Kong(RTHK) said they have fought for the say in what guest to be invited in the upcoming one-on-one interview program which is launching on the coming 21 December.

James Ma Chim Wai, better known as the Executive Producer of one of the longest-running public affairs shows on RTHK – Legco Review stressed his team has fought to safeguard their rights to decide which guest should be invited to the interview while responding to the forthcoming one-on-one interview program being challenged as merely being a mouthpiece program for the government in promoting its favored policies. Ma assured that the choice of interviewees and issues will be based on timeliness and their professional judgments. Ma also emphasized that the program will be criticizing.

Concerning the problem of internal censorship or any kinds of intervention of the program, Ma said they have told the Director of Broadcasting crystal clear that this program cannot be of a mouthpiece of the government and he has the words of the Director ensuring if the government officials dare not to be invited; it is absolutely fine for Ma and his team to invite opposition parties.
