Shelly Pan Chu Yuan Report

The MicroBlog Weibo was first introduced to China in 2010 by Sina, and followed by Tencent and other similar websites, now reaches over 200,000,000 people. Li Fang, the deputy editor of Tencent, said it had “an explosive growth”.

“If I have an audience of a 1000 people, then I can be a whistleblower. If I can reach 100,000 people, then I can be a newspaper. If I can reach 100,000,000, then I can be CCTV,” said Li Fang, as one way to describe the effect of weibo in recent days.

“Weibo is a gift from god,” said Qian Gang, the director of Journalism and Mass Communication Research Center of Hong Kong University.

The launch of weibo not only offered an entertaining platform for all the Chinese, but also a platform for them to become online journalists, post the latest news and (disharmony phenomenon?)-lack of harmony.

Take the train accident of Wenzhou as an example, even though Chinese people will not be told the whole truth, they can (probably-vague) see it on weibo.

“The introduction of Weibo revolutionized the media industry,” said Li Fang.

Due to its popularity, lots of famous stars and celebrities have their own account on weibo. (((As Sina weibo is the biggest competitor of Tencent. Li said Tencent has its own advantages.

“We have 420,000,000 (qq?) users, which is far from insignificant. The network chain is (the most important part to operate weibo in the future-?), in this way, (Tenlent) is better than Sina.” Li admires his competitor Sina because of pushing him up, and made his working team form a small size of 40 people to 400 people now.)))

As we discussed on Friday, your article is clear, and focused, however the content in between ((())))) is a bit confusing-what point are you trying to prove? is this information relevant to your news angle-Weibo a Gift from God?)
