With technology, artwork and performance become more creative

Creativity is not just limited to people’s ideas but also relates to the technology.

The rapid development of technology helps in creativity and innovation. Artwork and performance apply hologram and projection to design and beautify the products.

Speaking at the general assembly in Shue Yan University, Dio Wong, a creative director of 430 limited said, the most common use of hologram is in shopping mall exhibition in Hong Kong.

3DTV of Ironman demonstrated in hologram at Hysan Place in Causeway Bay on 2013, he said.

Hologram is a photographic recording of a light field to display a fully 3D image to the audiences while projection just display an image in flat.

“Claude Monet: The Spirit of Place in Hong Kong Heritage Museum applied projection for interaction,” Wong said. The visitors could pick flowers in the TV screen and those would appear in the Lotus Pond.

Performance, such as concert and drama, can also apply projection. Wong said: “In Yanzi World Tour, our company took a video that she was singing before and projected it at the concert while she went to change clothes. Then, Yanzi Sun appeared on the other end.” It was “magic” to the audiences.

Aiming for audiences to understand the movement of dancers, stages use projection as well. Wong said, there might be some water drop was projected to show how hard the dancers dance.--145088 2016年9月13日 (二) 17:51 (CST)
