Wong: The new world of free television is coming

A new era of free television industry is coming; more players are entering the market which creates competition. Ricky Wong, the chairman of CTI (1137), is going to recruit hundreds of people to compete with other free television.

Today, CTI holds recruitment fair in Shue Yan University in order to prepare for the war within free television. “The past age of free television industry was a monopoly and the productions were bored,” Said Wong. “The variety of the TV series is limited and the creativity of script-writer is restricted under the monopoly,” One of the existing script writers of CTI added.

Asia Television has lodged an objection towards the granting of 3 new license of free television. It seems the 3 applicants need to wait for a longer time. “It didn’t affect our plan as we need to have more time to prepare especially the stock of TV series,” said Wong.
