Eric Yueng Chuen Sing, the President of Esports Association Hong Kong, he predicts that Hong Kong government will release a new regulation for e-sports in three months.


Yueng said that the current regulations about video games were set in thirty years ago and it’s not suitable for e-sports nowadays. However, set a new regulations is not easy, “A new regulation about e-sports can be release before all district boards agree.”Therefore, the old regulations were used for so many years.


In response to people said that the e-sports only have a few female players, Yeung admit that there are still more men playing video games and female players are still minority. However, Yeung thinks that this situation will be change slowly, “I believe that this situation will be balance and change, I also have seen a lot of excellent female players in e-sports industry. Actually, in e-sport industry, the business value of female players is higher than men players,”.


Yeung thinks that e-sports industry are not encourage teenagers to addicted to video game, it’s only a new choice for them to turn their interest into a career.
