Refers to the residency fight of Philippine immigrant maid, Cardinal Joseph Zen Ze-Kiun sighed for the deterioration of conscience of Hong Kong people, “Better houses and making more money does not contribute to the “real” social development of Hong Kong, except for the lift of quality of people.”

(((revise)))

Hong Kong's High Court ruled that a domestic helper from the Philippines should be allowed to apply for permanent residency in the city. The ruling follows a landmark judicial review. New People's Party leader Regina Ip insists that it might lead to more than 167 million other foreign maids winning rights to residency.

(((167 million? i think that's a bit high, no?))

Critics stated that granting residency to domestic helpers would burden the current supply of health care, education and public housing. In response to such feedbacks, Zen stated that it originates from the selfishness of human, “The right of Family reunion which protected by Universal Declaration of Human Rights should not be exploited. It was not about politics, it was about protecting human rights.” (((revise and edit...not bad but i can't get behind it with those facts as they are...7/10)))
