Dr. Steve Wallace currently teaches at National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University,National Central University and Industrial Technology Research Institute. He has been to about 70 countries around the world. He said that when one is still young, one should go travelling more often. He further explained since as a young one, one would do crazy and fun things, which could help to gain more exploration thus to widen one’s horizon. Relatively when one is smart and old, one can barely spare time traveling.


He said that English is an international language. When go travelling one can also gain opportunities to polish English. “When one is regularly exposed to English, he or she would be more able to handle it”, Dr. Steve Wallace said. He also believed that English makes a lot more sense in education and especially higher education, as most of the textbooks are in English in higher education.


Dr. Steve Wallace has written 13 textbooks used in 28 universities, speaking on the learning atmosphere of the students in Asia, specifically Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. He said that “to be honest, I think the students in Shanghai are extremely impressive to me. When I raise the questions to the students, they are all super into it”. He further explained that the students in Shanghai are paying more effort in the class participation and have higher willingness to raise questions when comparing with students in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
