Bloomberg To Serious-ize Mag Market?

Thomas Shao, chairman of Modern Media Group said that, the magazine market in Hong Kong retains the same in past 20 years, and hoping the groups’ publication “Bloomberg Newsweek” Chinese Edition can change the market.

Shao said that when he firstly meet the Hong Kong magazine market, it takes time for him to study of, however it remains the same after 20 years, and being pass away from the Western magazine market. He said that Hong Kong is full of leisure and entertainment magazines, but lacking serious publications.

Shao said that the Modern Media Group wants to use the Bloomberg’s content to build a media that can be accepted by the Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong. He said the Chinese version of Bloomberg Newsweek isn’t going to compete with existing leisure magazines, but to change the magazine market with social insights.
