South China Correspondent James Pomfret attended the seminar held by Shue Yan University and said that “Beijing controls a lot of things in Hong Kong.” And added that the Chief Executive (CE) election will be won by Mr. Tang.

Whoever be the Chief Executive, with Beijing’s support James emphasis that Beijing is leading the development of Hong Kong, Beijing controls a lot of things in Hong Kong. For the Chief Executive elective next year, he think as long as Beijing decided whom to support, that person will win, according to the current situation, Mr. Henry Tang, will be the next chief executive. But James believes that Beijing cannot ignore the community's opposition. For Henry’s main rival, Mr. Leung, Pomfret think it will add pressure on Beijing, and forcing Henry to have a better performance to ensure that the election will not a great opposite voice.

Difficulties of being a journalist in China

James has many years experience working in the Mainland, he pointed out that the police prevent his interview from time to time, and even threatened him with force to ensure that he would not report some sensitive information about the local government. He believes that journalism students and journalist should not be afraid of these threats, because these reports will enable the community to understand more about the truth.
