Candy Lo, the Deputy Chief Editor of Hong Kong China News Agency (HKCNA) said she was fighting for the room of reporting social movements in Hong Kong and overseas in the past five years. She said we have to understand that HKCNA is a Chinese-funded institution. Sensitive issues such as the annual assembly in Victoria Park remember victims in the Tiananmen Square protest in1989 is not allow to report five years ago and HKCNA will cover the sensitive issues more and more in the future.

‘Social movements are meaningful,’ she added and she don’t agree that the national education will cause ‘brain washing’. Joshua Wong, the convener of Scholarism, is the best example to show that Hong Kong people have the independent mind. People have to think about why government publish the national education and why people against the policy. Students have to hold their own mind set and do not pull by the social main stream. Candy Lo also restate that HKCNA insist on high quality news, no shocking statement and low level entertainment.
