Candy Lo, the deputy chief editorof Hong Kong China News Agency (CNA), do not admit the agency is ‘left-wing’.

Lo defended for CAN in an seminar in Shue Yan University. ‘Althogh we are China-funded, we would not refuse to report some news. We report news fairly and objectively,’ she stated. She said CNA has reported also the news about Liu Xiaobo winning the Nobel peace prize and the June Forth memorial ceremonies in Victoria Park. Lo believed that this reflected the improvement in the transparency of news in China..

However, reporter found that CAN always shares the same tone with the Communist Party when reporting the above news. Also, they are the media agency authorized by the Hunan Public Security Bureau to release investigation of the death of human rights activist Li Wangyang.
