Entering Great Bay Area should master the internet mindset: Great Bay Area’s expert

Reported by Meng Shu Yang, Keira 165001, March 26, 2019

Mastering the internet mindset would be the most important requirement for the young generation in Hong Kong to develop in Great Bay Area, said a Great Bay Area’s expert.

“Internet thought was not just doing an APP than using the internet mindset to spread its business,” said Rocky Yu, who is the founder and director of QianHai Gangjunda Shenzhen Business Service Co Ltd.

Speaking at a weekly assembly at Hong Kong Shue Yan University today, Yu said All the people talked about the young generation should learn to start their business. However, I thought young people should start a business with the middle. Because the middle had a large amount of experience and rich personal connection which the young people more were lacking.

“In today’s society, big fish eat small fish, but fast fish eat slow fish,” said Yu.

In the past 10 years, Yu has visited more than 1,000 factories, assisted more than 200 factory companies to successfully raise funds, when he helped lots of Hong Kong people having a deep understanding of the domestic business conditions and models. He wrote a book about how businessmen in Hong Kong to enter the market of the Great Bay Area.

Information technology, Internet plus, new materials, biomedicine, new energy, artificial intelligence, robotics and automation, and the Internet of things would be the future trend in the Great Bay Area.

In recent years, Hong Kong's annual GDP had been around 3 per cent far from Shenzhen's annual GDP, which was around 8 to 10 per cent. The reason behind the rapid GDP growth was the gathering of technology giants like Huawei and Tencent in Shenzhen.

“It will be the best for the greater bay area to start its engine in the 15-square-kilometre free trade zone in Qianhai if young people can seize the opportunity.

Infrastructure changed the pattern of the bay area to become a 'one-hour living circle'. Newly built Kong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao bridge and Shenzhen–Zhongshan Bridge, the Humen Pearl River Bridge and Shenzhen-Maoming railway built in and future would connect Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Zhuhai in a tight way. --165001 2019年3月26日 (二) 17:13 (CST)
