The CEO of the Bees Group, KK Tsang said he created a new advertising company in order to change the culture of the advertising industry.

KK Tsang, who was previously the CEO of Group M which is one of the world’s largest advertising media companies, is an experienced advertising practitioner. Tsang said the reason why he created a new company is to change the bad culture of the industry including unfair distribution of profit and the whole industry produce advertisements only because of gaining awards.

Tsang pointed out that he would like to share the profit with his staffs in a reasonable amount. Tsang said if the company earns $100, he would like to use 60% or even 70% to hire a staff, which is a relatively high proportion in the current industry. Also, he said since his company is still small in scale, it can avoid the documentation processes, thus the staffs can be more focus on creating advertisements.

Tsang said that though the advertising industry is deteriorating, the government should not help the industry. He said “I oppose the government to assist the industry.” Tsang added, advertising industry as a creative industry, practitioners should have some creative ideas to make the whole industry better. If the government assists the industry, which means the industry does not have the ability to recover by itself and the whole industry is hopeless.
