The movie industry was changed with the convenience and qualities improved with mobile phones' camera, say a filmmaker.

“Nowadays mobile phone’s camera pixel and quality has improved that enough to make a movie, everyone can possibly be a filmmaker without any professional equipment,” said Au Man Kit Jevons, a famous filmmaker and directed a movie called ‘Trivisa’, said at Hong Kong Shue Yan University weekly forum. Even a movie producer and director Peter Chan Ho-sun had used iPhone to make short micro film with high quality; it may become a new trend with using mobile phone to make film.

He also pointed out the biggest challenge let Hong Kong movie down is, today Hong Kong young generation generally lack of creative that the movies without freshness so the movie box offices in Hong Kong are depression.

Au explained teenager lack of creative mindset on account of they haven't try to step out comfort zone. “They will never know what outstanding theme can be if they just stay in comfort zone and never explore, it eventually caused every movie become alike without a wow,” he said.

“a good filmmaker also need to have foresight,” said Au. In nowadays, movie not only played in theater but also through social media or internet platforms, actually the click rate and views rate will count into the movie box office. Thus he said, a creative movie whether played in theater or digital platform can attract viewers.

Au said become a filmmaker is not difficult but yet learn how to survival within local movie industry is the problem.
