TVB’s general manager Mark Lee Po-on claims the purpose of undergoing judicial review against the government to release new free TV license is to maintain the health of the industry.

Lee cited data and suggested that Hong Kong could not adopt 3 free TV stations. Introducing new TV station under present broadcasting regulations would destroy the balance of the TV industry.

He is asked to predict which TV station would be the first one to close down if HKTV joins the market. Lee did not respond the question directly. However, he hinted that HKTV has the greatest chance to close down among the 3 free TV stations due to its huge expenses.

Moreover, Lee defended that the dramas produced by TVB are not lacking creativity. He criticized that the HKTV's dramas are too violent and brutal.
