Many people didn’t know much about blockchain, but blockchain expertises has a huge needs in all over the world, this was a huge opportunity for students nowadays, says co-founder,


“More thinking, more opportunities,” Peter Woo, the co-founder of Hong Kong Blockchain Society said at a Hong Kong Shue Yan University forum yesterday. Compared with mainland China and Singapore, Hong Kong focused more on the quality, they were more concentrated and had put a lot a effort to achieve their goal, he said. “Students participates more competitions is good for them,” he said. Provided more trainings and opportunities of participating competitions for students could let them realise their flaws and had a chance to learn how to do better from the competitions.


“Data ownership is a fundamental problem that left to be solved,” he said. Hong Kong Blockchain Society still have a conflict on data ownership with the Hong Kong government. The medical records of Hong Kong citizens were now belongs to the hospital and the doctors, but not the patients themselves, this fundamental problem was still arguing.


“Blockchain expertises are needed in the society,”he said. There are lack of blockchain expertises in all over the world. Woo took AIA Group Limited as an example, it was one of their client, it used to have a blockchain expert, but when Amazon.com.inc found out there was an expert in AIA, they have offered a lot of benefits to that expert, then AIA lost their only one expert.


Peter Woo is the co-founder of the Hong Kong Blockchain Society and the Chief Strategist of eMALI.io. He is an executive with over 25 years of extensive international experience in the Information Technology, Internet and Telecommunications sectors. As part of his career, Peter's notable roles were as Regional Director (Data warehouse) at AT&T Asia China and Managing Director of Doubleclick Asia-Pacific.
