A Chief Operating Officer of Big Data company said that the people awareness help the data privacy be perfect.


Arthur Chan Ming Fat, a Chief Operating Officer of Vpon Big Data group, he said that the step of data privacy regulation in Hong Kong is slow but he believe that Hong Kong will improve the data privacy regulations step by step.


“All of us should admit that the data privacy regulation in Asia is not perfect enough compare to the West, we must understand that a sound legislation needs people to aware the importance of it. ” Chan said.


Chan said that big data companies do not collected confidential information of customers because it is easy to break the law.


“We will only analyze behaviors and transition records of customers though their electronic devices, such as we knew that Mainland people prefer to travel to Tokyo because they love shopping. In contrast, Hong Kong people prefer to travel to some small city as Hong Kong people love to explore good restaurant.” Chan said these information were all came from data gathering though electronic devices of passengers.


“Data we collected definitely not involve personal privacy .” Chan said that most companies in trouble as they were found to be violated to data privacy issues.


Lot of people were worried that they will be eliminated by artificial intelligence. Chan said that artificial intelligence actually brought a lot of new opportunities to people. “HSBC have a new building which is focus on doing digital transformation. Actually, it’s not have enough talents to entry the data entry, we need more talents.” Chan said.


“It is unnecessary to be so negative and it is always have chances as the world is keep changing.” Chan said.


Chan said that artificial intelligence let companies collected data in a convince way. “In the past, if we wanted to do data analyzing, we needed at least 100 employees but we only need artificial intelligence now. ” Chan said.
