The Great Time For Journalism

In the old time, the idea of being a journalist with a cell phone was some way off. Because of the rapidly development of  technology, journalism industry was being reshaped by our multi-tasking smart phones.

Some says the difficult time of journalism is coming as the traditional media like newspapers are dying out by the social mainstream. People are more likely sweeping on their screen  instead of  buying a  newspaper and reading them. Interestingly, the Hong Kong Economic Journal(HKEJ) , one of the local financial newspapers, decided to raise their sale price from$6 to$8 in this hard time.

Tim Chan, the Executive Chief Editor of HKEJ, thought that printing newspapers was a sunset industry and felt pessimistic about working on newspapers. However, “this is the great time of making news,” he said.

When the smart phones such as iphone first launched, it widely spread to the whole world in a very short period. Everyone was fascinated about every intelligent product. Meanwhile, news are forced to be faster and more in order to meet the large demand  from audience. People are getting addicted to trace the most updated news as it's extremely easy for them getting online by their pocket clever phones. 24-hours TV news channels are the best evidence of  people are entering an information flooding era. Therefore, newspaper maybe dying this time, the journalism will never die and we are  facing  the big great time of making news.
