The Central Ministry of Finance announced that if high-end and shortage talents work in the Mainland, they will provide tax subsidies and actively develop the Greater Bay Area. The Greater Bay Area Pioneer Rocky Yu supported this subsidy policy and developing the Greater Bay Area.

Rocky Yu is the Director of QianHai Gangjunda Shenzhen Business Service Co Ltd. He said that the highest tax rate in the Mainland is now 45%, which has caused many Hong Kong people to be afraid of working in the Mainland and they felt confused about why the tax rate in the Mainland is so high. Yu said although China is indeed the world's highest tax rate, people actually only have to pay about 30% of their income as taxes.

“The tax rate in the Mainland is normal but the tax rate in Hong Kong is low,” said Yu. He said that there are only a few places in the world where the tax rate in the world is as low as in Hong Kong.

“If you arrive in the United States, Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, etc., the tax rate is 30 to 40 percent,” Yu said under the new policy, high-end and short-term talents pay the original 30% to 40% tax, and then receive subsidies from the local government at the end of the year, so they only need to pay 15% of the tax.

Yu pointed out that this measure can encourage more Hong Kong people to work in the Mainland, and all countries around the world use different policies to absorb talents. The use of this tax subsidy policy in mainland China is also understandable.

For the development of the Greater Bay Area, Yu said that he never thought that there is a perfect world, because the Greater Bay Area is just a package, it is both good and bad.

He gave an example and said there are many places in Shenzhen where there are large places to live, low pressures for life, and leisure time to play. People like the Great Bay area and they must accept its disadvantages.
