Many people believe that new media platform has large development space and less limitation than TV programs.

“Developing and operating an online media is very difficult,” said Leung Sam Yan, Founder of Alpha Bull Limited, at Hong Kong Shue Yan University this afternoon. Leung used to be a TV financial reporter, a radio host. Creating an online media by herself is difficult for her.

Some sponsors or partners did not understand the advantage of online media. Therefore, Leung tried to convince and attract them from the traditional media to new media.

Til now, the popularity had already been established. Leung’s company had been on the track and gained the trust of customers.

Nowadays, Hong Kong people would not spend so much time to watching TV, but relying on a mobile phone to send, receive and view all information.

“It is a turning point of traditional media and new media. It is a trend of using new media. Also, it can develop through the streaming platforms and social platforms,” said Leung. “There are a lot of rooms for online media. The fluidity and freedom of new media are higher than traditional media.”

She continued, “they could use different format to present anything. For instance, they could take some micro movies to talk about finance news. Also, there is no limitation on the ideas.”

Leung gained rich experience on operating a media company as she worked in a TV company before. After started up her own business, she had more decision-making power and flexible working hours.

At the same time, her employees and audiences believe in themselves and count on themselves, which everything must be done personally. That is, the most important thing to operating a company, or an online media.
